Case Studies - Cix Online

CIX (Collaborative Information Exchange) Online is the company now running the UK’s oldest and most well established conferencing system. Their latest Cix Office Online service encompassing email, contact management, and shared document storage is aimed at the new generation of SMEs who rely on mobility and remote working for their business.

They approached Teledesign to add new telephony functionality to their business web solution.

Implementation and methodology

The client’s telephony requirements - which had initially seemed complex to implement in a web environment - were handled with ease by Teleserver’s NTSX number translation protocol. Having developed the API and back office engine, Teledesign had a working model up and running within weeks.

The whole system is now hosted on a Teleserver® and is capable of dealing with up to two hundred thousand customers without further upgrading of the hardware.

Outcome

"Ours is a virtual office" explains Managing Director Graham Davies "What Teledesign has allowed us to do, is to add a virtual switchboard to our offering. All of our customers have two new London-based business telephone numbers, one for fax and one for voice. The Teleserver® technology allows users to route the incoming calls and receive faxes anywhere in the world at the click of a mouse - and change it somewhere else twenty minutes later if they choose. So calls can be diverted to mobiles, landlines or Voicemail. It offers huge flexibility at a very affordable price.

"We needed an innovative Telco who would work closely with us to implement this solution for us. We needed a robust API linking to a powerful database for accurate billing etc. We needed lots of complicated things; they all needed to work and they all do. What more can I say?"

CIX Online are now working with Teledesign to add further levels of switching functionality and the provision of UK local area numbers to their portfolio.
